Swim Team

Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club started its swim team in 2006 to enable the children of our members to have the opportunity to make new friends, to condition, and to participate in a competitive swim program. Continuation of the program each year depends on interest and the availability of team members to participate in the morning session. An evening session will be created if sufficient interest is present.

Swim team is a great way to meet new people, improve your stroke, and have fun this summer. Toward the beginning of the season, we will post a form here where you can submit your interest in the swim team online.

Highlights of the 2010 Swim Team program include the following:

• Coached by experienced Cicero -N. Syracuse Varsity Swim Team coaches Paul Gill and Brad Ranieri.
• Swim Team practices are Tuesday through Thursday from 6 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. so you can participate from one to three days per week.
• Cost for summer swim team is $175 per child (member) and $225 per child (non-member).  However, costs for this activity depends on interest level, lifeguard cost and swim team attire purchase.  We will advise you of the estimated cost before the pool opens.
• Team members are not required to practice every day but are encouraged to make a minimum of three practices per week.  Some sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled based on events taking place at the pool.
• The swim team is geared toward children and adolescents between 8 and 21 years old, with structured morning practices 4 to 6 days per week.
• Children must be at least 8 years old and have completed level 6 of the swim lesson program to participate in the swim team.
• LSYCC will reduce the dues for a PSO membership by the $175 fee for each swim team participant. To receive the discount swim team participants will need to have practiced a minimum of 20 days with the team and participated in three meets.
